"I am Judy Campbell and I live in Colorado. 13 years ago our son who was then 25 began to lose his balance. There is much I could go into but I will save that if anyone is interested. Brandon who is now 38 has coped with falling for many years. He has coped with the Police stopping him and giving him a breathalizer test. He carries a letter from his Neurologist..to present when that happens. Brandon never drinks or uses drugs...he just can't walk straight. Brandon has Adult on-set of Atrophy of the Cerebellum. Neurologists are not able to say why...they have ruled out genetic. Neurologists are not able to offer any help...except try this drug or that drug. This gaitaid device is the first hope we've ever seen to try to improve Brandon's walking. Brandon started Saturday 11-15-2008. His first experience was good. He started in our back yard...just walking with the device. I was shocked...his feet were closer together and he didn't have his hands OUT to try and prevent a FALL. Hope we do have... that other parts of the brain can take over for what his cerebellum can't do. Both his dad and I tried on the device to get an understanding of how it works. It's simple to use and it may create a pattern that will help when the device is not worn. I will keep you all posted on how this goes. So far Brandon has used the device 4 times...twice at home and then at a near-by park by himself twice. Brandon says it seems to help him. The key has to be practice...to re-train the brain. Let us know how you are doing...hoping to get Brandon on here. He works full time and spends a lot of his time...with music and writing. But the main thing Brandon has always done is to keep physically fit as fit as possible...to retain the brains flexibility. We are truly HOPEFULL as hard as it is to deal with these awful conditions...for Atrophy of the Cerebellum there is no cure...make it better is a wonderful HOPE." Judy

"I have hesitated to post again..because Brandon would and could say it BETTER. I keep hoping he will Post since he's the one using the device. Audrey...this device is Very Special and it really is Helping Brandon. Brandon says this...it's HELPING me. I see it too...he's more steady on his feet, more sure of his walking. No this isn't a cure at all but any gains walking with better balance...is close to a miracle. Subjectively speaking...I see at least 20% improvement or 30%. Brandon is using it Daily...taking it to work with him, to use at his breaks. It is winter here and dark early...so he couldn't wait till he was home. Audrey, please post this for me...it is the TRUTH. We will not be sending this Back...even though it is guaranteed return. 10% improvement would have been Great but his great device is doing better than we could even HOPE for. My GaitAid device does help me. I have a type of Cerebellar Ataxia. Doctors do not know why I have it.
I would say that my gait improves anywhere from 5-15% when I use the GaitAid.I do continue to use it. Thanks go to you and your team for providing such a useful device.
